A creative economy park is an environment designed using strategic objectives in achieving technological capabilities, transfer of information and knowledge, fostering innovative high-tech companies and entrepreneurs, developing new technology industries that are involved in the creative economy business field to encourage new economic development. The main structure of this creative economy park is based on 4 functions, namely research and development (R&D), business and networking entrepreneurship, management and globalization functions, and infrastructure functions. Amikom Yogyakarta University has a vision in the field of creative economy and has launched the Amikom Creative Economy Park (ACEP).
The park consists of several multimedia environments such as software development, film, television, games, radio, animation, advertising, investment advisory, and project design. In the film sector, ACEP has collaborated with Hollywood and in the technology sector has collaborated with the Silicon Valley Innovation Center.
